Default Centre diff clunking

Just bought my first Scooby a 54 sti Type uk in black with ppp, love this car but recently i was playing with the settings on the dccd and i left it on the last but one setting and when i drove off i heard a clunking coming from somewhere on my drive, when i switched the dccd to the full rear setting it dissapeared. Is this normal, i have also been told that if you are doing tight turns at slow speed say parking in a carpark you are supposed to take the diff out of Auto and set it to the most rearward position.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks...

totally normal mate, can't say i've ever had any noise in auto but if i wind the diff forward and do a tight turn it clunks badly, scared the crap out of me the first time it happened thought i'd broken something!

drive it in auto and you should have no problems, if there's a persisitent noise get it checked out
