Default porting, polishing, bigger valves and pulleys

My head gasket has gone on the car and the head is off. I am getting the heads pressure tested. Would anyone recomment getting and porting work done while it is in?

I am replacing the valve stem oil seals too. Does anyone recommend bigger valves?

The pulley to the left of the water pump is making a bit of noise so I am going to replace this. Would people recommend fitting lighter pulleys? (I've got a lightened flywheel going in too)

Lastly what's the opinions on cam pulleys? Worth the money?

It depends on what your power goals are, what turbo and supporting mods you have etc.

Some of the stuff you mention will not really come into its own until higher power levels (porting cyl heads, bigger valves, vernier pulleys etc). Standard cam timing (even with the variances in the o.e set up) and standard ports/valve sizes will see you over 500 BHP anyway.

At lower levels, your money may well be spent on other things that will give you more bangs for your buck.
