Steering rack mounts

I've read that changing the rubber steering rack bushes to polyeurathene / thermo plastic makes a nice difference in steering feel.

Do you guys agree and how hard is it to do on a Classic UK car ?

Did mine 3 years ago as part of a 'no rubber' mod to the entire chassis.
Will make a difference, awkward to do to, but seems to help but not hugely.

In that case I'll give it a miss - I'm not racing and should try to ween myself of modifying for the sake of
