can you use a late spec crank i.e 2.2 stroker crank in and early cdb i've heard the thrust bearings are in a different place is that easierly got round etc?

maybe phone zen performance, or api , i have seen and heard before of machine shops changing thrust placement . dont know of cost though gazza

Yes, the thrust needs mahining in the block.

Several people can do it/get it done for you. Guess at £200 or less if you buy the (modified) crank off them too!

Cranks up to 97 used center thrust bearings 98 was the crossover and from then on end thrust bearings where used.

So assuming you have the later crank then the block will have to be machined to except your crank.

The late type STi9 nitrided cranks that we get, are dual purpose. I.E. they fit either block.

thanks for the advice guys think i need to get old block apart and find out really i hope i don't need to but knowing my luck i will grrr lol
