Does anyone know if the Prodrive or Scoobysport backboxes for the '06 WRX 2.5L model are different to those of its newage predecessors??? Could I use the backbox from a 2001 WRX model for example?

my prodrive backbox i fitted to my 06 wrx wagon came from an 03 on ebay and i think the bloke said he got it from a 01 b4 that.
its 3rd hand and stil looks new

They're the same. Either will fit a standard or aftermarket system.
In case you're interested, the scoobysport box flows slightly better than the Prodrive one.

The difference between the MY 06 exhaust and the earlier new age ones is that the downpipe is slightly shorter, and the rear cat section is correspondingly slightly longer. Everything else is the same.

Does the prodrive back box bring the subaru burble back on the 2.5 or does it need a straight through middle section as well?
Been told that the big silencer in the middle section is really restrictive ?

Yep - can defo confirm that PPP BB from MY05 and earlier will fit MY06 STI.

Have got one one and have done since 10 smiles.
