Default anyone running centre de cat without re map

hi guys, bought and fitted a middle de cat pipe(the one after the down pipe)to my 04 sti
and made quite a bit of difference, now running 1.3 bar of boost.

i rang my local scooby tuning company(scoobyclinic)to see if it is safe to run that boost without remap and was told to get it done asap at a cost of 730 quid.

so i took it off and re fitted the standard cat, can`t justify the money for a 50 quid de cat pipe.

is anyone running the same without a re map.

Hello, im having the same sort of problem with mine. Mine is a 2000 turbo my00 but i have both cats taken out. Mine boosts to around 17psi which is a bit high and then comes off boost and then back onto boost. I have been told the only way around this is a re-map but i'm after other options. hope this helps in any way

not a problem unless it is causing large boost spikes.
If it is then just change the size of the brass restrictor in the boost control pipes, in order to prvent the spikes. should cost about £1

I am sure there are plenty of people running decat centres without remaps.

I had a de-cat downpipe and de-cat centre section on MY00, and it ran great, was also told by a well known tuner on here that a re-map was not necessary.
