High miles
I am looking to buy my first impreza turbo and have been offered a uk car 1997 with 110k on the clock, the car has full history and is very clean. £6500
Is this sort of mileage a problem for this type off car, can you help.

Paul,
I'm sure that there are a few people around who will testify that they have had little trouble with high milers. However, as with any performance car, few have had an easy life. I very much doubt anyone would be willing to stick their neck out and say you won't have any trouble, especially without seeing the car. It's a bit of a lottery really. You haven't said what sort of price the car is going for. Personaly, my money would be on an older, lower mileage WRX, but even then, you pays your money, takes your chance.

Sideways has got a p reg wagon with 109k on the clock, and touch wood hasn't had any problems with it so far. He drives it hard, as he has with all his other cars (that broke) and the scooby hasn't been broken yet!!
The Scoobies are built well and are very robust cars
Cheers Phill C

I got a high miles (85K) UK (M Reg) 3 years ago. It now has 110K on. Had (and has) FSSH. Have had to get new rear discs and pads, other than that it has been sweet. Think the clutch is on the way out shortly, but other than that no probs. No smoke or crunching.
Check out the difference on insurance between UK & WRX before you decide...it could pay for a lot of repairs.....but then again, you probably won't need them anyway!

Mine's a UK 94MY, 120K miles and still going strong, with full dealer history. Just done Cam belt change, crank seal and small heatshield replacement, so not too bad for that many miles.
Personally I would go for UK model, but the early WRX's are good value. Remember all imports need super unleaded too, and the extra insurance is not kind. Make your choice!
