Things you need to no in order to work your compression ratio are.
Cylinder head volume in cc
Head gasket thickness (Crushed)
Deck height
Piston dish in cc
Bore size diameter
Stroke
Combustion chamber size in cc

Begs the question why do you want to change the CR is there a problem with the motor?
The “Ideal” compression ratio would be around 8.5.1 for most applications.
Once you have the figures you can search google for an online calculator to work out the maths for you

basicallyi'm rebuilding the lump so heads need to be skimmed and was thinking of dropping the cr for more protection when running high boost and making the engine that bit safer o the det side
