Default How a 93WRX controls boost?

Morning,

How does a 93wrx control the boost?

I assume the actuator has a low preload on it then the ecu monitors the boost and bleeds off the correct amount to keep it at a certain level ?

So does the boost solenoid on the drivers side open and close all the time when on boost ?

Cheers

Dave

Your understanding is correct.

The actuator on your car will open at around 0.7bar. The boost control solenoid is operated by the ECU to bleed off some of the pressure seen by the actuator in order for the manifold pressure to reach around 0.9bar on your car.
