Default High ratio steering rack on 02WRX

Has anyone done this conversion, is there much difference in the feel?

Any idea of how hard the racks are to change, and does anything else need to bre done

I should be able to tell you shortly.

I'm putting an ultra quick spec c rack into my car. The only twist is my car is a sti 5 type r.

When it's all back together I'll let you know how it feels. Whenever that is.

Cookie

Get a smaller STi steering wheel

I thought about this but the cost of the steering rack / geometry (again!) was a bit off putting.

Not sure if it will make much difference...... When the odd pheasant jumps out in front of the car and I twitch the wheel to avoid the stupid bird buggering up the APS FMIC the car can change direction pretty quick !!!

Cheers

Shaun

I have a quick rack on my 03 WRX and yes there is a difference.
API fitted mine for me. Not sure where they are sourced from, David would tell you all those details though.
I soon got used to it as my steering felt heavy at first, was weird, like i had no power steering, but now i dont even notice it, and at times i actually wonder now if i have a quick rack on the car at all! LOL.
I would like to drive a normal one to make sure.
