If your lad is a mechanic then it should be no problem the basics are all the same, and the cam belt being changed makes it easier. Assuming you have access to a jack and some stands to drain the oil etc it’s all good.
This is a full service I think its everything.
Change plugs
Change oil and filter
Check drive belts
Check front bakes and rear
Check Engine coolant
Change Transmission fluid
Check brake fluid
Change air filter
Change fuel filter
And give everything else a good look over

Obviously it's much cheaper to do it yourself although you won't have a stamp in the book.
Theres no mystery to servicing a Scoob, only the plugs are awkward. Engine, gearbox and final drive oil changes are easy and don't forget to use a good quality oil of no less than 10w/40 on that model and make sure you pre-fill the oil filter! Brake fluid change is as per any car and if your hydraulic valve lifters (has the RA hydrulic or solid lifters?) are quiet they don't need to be touched. If your lad is a Vauxhall mech. he should have no problems with he Scoob.
If you'r unsure of what's been done before, change the following :
Engine oil and filter
Gearbox oil (75w/90)
Final drive oil (75w/90)
Brake fluid
Plugs
Air filter
Possibly the coolant
All other items are "check"
