Default Coolant hose

Hi, yesterday I found a split in the top rad hose, I have decided to replace it with a full samco coolant hosing kit. Is there anything I need to do like drain the coolant or is it simply take one hose out and put a new one in?? Any tips on replacing them too??

Also the split hose leaked a bit of coolant will I need to top it up and if so with what type??

Thanks!

if you are changing all the hoses you will lose your coolant best to do the lowest first to drain the system then just go round changing them
when done refill with anti freeze and water probably 2-3 litres of anti freeze topped with water make sure you run it up and get all air out of system and cooling fan cuts in
leave to cool down and recheck the levels in rad, expansion bottle and aluminium resavoir on engine

only just got a scooby, but had the same problem.. just a quick question. is there some sort of plug on a 95 wrx on the bottom of the rad through which i can drain the water? or am i going to have to take the bottom rad pipe out again? (Sorry cant check at the moment im at work!).

also, where is easiest to fill the water.. through the aluminium tank (on the drivers side, near the front of the engine)is where i did it yesterday.. so where else shall can i fill/check the level is okay? Where is the expansion tank?

Thanks lads.
