Default 06 sti alarm

i have a 06 sti and having read the alarm instructions i found that there are options which u can have which are not setup as standard ie theres a function called safety lock which locks the doors when u turn the key in the ignition which u can do yourself using the key pad in the car but there is also a fuction called auto arm which sets the alarm but does not lock the doors just incase you forget but for this and the other options it states ask your dealer which i did today when the car was serviced but when i got home i realised that it hasnt been done, does anyone know how it is done? is this also done using the key pad?

thanks

You can turn the Safety Lock (doors lock/unlock when ignition on/off) feature on yourself using the keypad:
With the ignition on, press the radio key once (the dash LED will flash once) press digit "4" on the keypad, then turn the ignition off during the next 5 seconds.
It may be necessary to arm/disarm the alarm a couple of times before the feature starts to operate.
If you wish to turn the feature back off, repeat the above, but press digit "5".
This should be covered in your operating instructions for the alarm system.

The Selective Unlocking (Driver's door only - brief press, other doors - extended press) cannot be achieved through programming alone, although a good auto electrician (not necessarily a dealer) should be able to rewire the vehicles locking system for you, inorder to use the M30's boot release output to unlock the other doors via a relay. The standard lock output however, must be used to lock the doors - this would be quite a job to be honest and labour intensive, but should be possible if you really wish.

this will do it

thanks for reply but think i havent explained myself properly, i have set the safety lock myself in exactly the way you described using the manual, what i want is the auto alarm which when u have left the car for 60 secs without locking it the alarm automatically sets itself without locking the doors
