Default FFS Nothing is ever easy with me... 02 Suspension

Just had some Eibachs delivered, all built up with newer shocks than mine, sweet i thought, removed my shock and sping from the front and they are different.

They came from a 01WRX and mine is 02, why the **** change it.

Theres nothing more annoying than putting your car back together, the with the same things.

Right now is the back gonna be different too, i wanna know before i rip that lot out cos thats back seats out too.

So now havent got time to do the job as need to be in work at 6pm for a 12 hour night.

Need to get some spring clamps now i presume.

GGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Rant over

I can understand your fustration bud!

Is it the top mounts that are different? As I have ordered a set of tein basic dampers and I take it you need to use the existing top mounts for them.

Its actually the bottom half that is different, between where the bottom of the spring sits on and where those two huge bolts go through, a good couple of inches longer.

I just camt believe there are two different types

I hope the springs are the correct fitment now

It sounds like they might have come off a newer model, I sure theirs a post the shows you the difference between the bug & the blobeye suspensions bottoms. THe blobs have a different bolt position? I may be wrong on this tho.

i just had a quick look on the tein site and the 01 & 02 inc sti (100mm stud pattern) is the same part number so I don't see why they shouldnt fit.

Thanks mate, didnt think of that.

Will strip the springs off and use my shocks then.

Now this job is getting a bit beyond me, but I WILL do it, one way or another. Even if i have to take them off one at a time and drive them to a garage to swop the springs

I also cant understand why they dont fit. 01 and 02 suspension is the same mounting inc wrx/sti. The topmounts changed for 03 (blobeye) but I didnt know anything else had, in fact I think you can simply swap over the topmounts from 03 legs and fit on a bug ?

Are you sure its not just something as simple as the teins compress more when under weight of the car so the lower leg is slightly longer - if I've understood your explanation of where they are different.

Oh, you're not comparing back legs to front ones are you silly boy lol

Every is easy whats all your fuss about lol.

Naw mate i know how you feel, things start easy then a bolt sheers or something doesnt fit.

Was wiring in my boost controller and trying to plumb hoses into boost solenoid and it started blowing a gale and pissed down for the rest of the day so couldnt get completed.

Then the next day after i finished the car, the speed wasnt coming up on the boost controller, ended up the pin out on the instructions on apexi site for the speed sensor is wrong, god knows what damage that could have caused if i didnt find out.

Best of luck

ps you get the scoop fitted

Just for info...the suspension deffo came from an MY02 Bugeye WRX, standard shocks but with Eibach springs (fitted by TSL). Should lower by about 25cm as well.

I see I have mail LOL

It will lower by 160mm front and raise the rear by 80mm rear the way he's trying to fit em lol.

I think I should charge a diagnostic fee there for pointing out the bleedin obvious, what interresting bits have you got there Mr Cockstar lol.

Cookie is this the sort of look you were after?

Subtle in a minimalist sort of way.
