By full exhaust does that include having a decat?
Get an esl chip for your ecu (about £200).
Change the calipers as they are **** (cheap route is late model impreza 4 pots normally about £200+).

other good mods would be whitline adjustable arb, uprated drop links+
eibach springs. also check for wear on bushes etc.

good point about wheels tony.
scoob93 should have said if you fit 4 pots you will need 16" wheels (i've used 98 standard scoob wheels).
Decatting the exhaust allows a quicker spool up of the turbo (about £100+) and releases 'hidden' horsepower. The exhaust at the front should have 'bulge' in it if so it still has the cat.

This is a picture of the inside of a standard 93wrx ecu.
The esl chip will be soldered into the bottom rhs 'slot' basically it increases boost pressure to 1.1bar (standard is 0.8bar) and increase fuelling to match (£200 approx)

Got an error 'page cannot be found' when clicking on the link
If you use the 'IMG code' it puts the picture in the post.

He would need to be very careful which 16" wheels he fits as I suspect the majority would not clear the calipers.

You even need to be careful fitting 17" as there are a number of them that dont clear aswell. My favourites, the Speedline Chronos, dont even clear at 17".

Also, dont forget its not just the calipers that need changing when upgrading to 4 pots. You need the bigger discs and pads to match. Unlikely to get a decent set of all these for less than £300.

Thanks for the correction
Didn't realise 17" had a problem.
My 16"s didn't fit hence why i went with the late model scoob.

Esl post on here as ESL (funnily enough ) or you can do a search on ebay for 'impreza ecu' as they put their website on there.
best to speak to them about what power increase you will get.
I bought an HKS decat as that is what my local scooby specialist uses but do a search on here and you will get plenty of recommendations

Here's a pic of your exhaust setup

You will need a decat downpipe and a decat center section (if you dont have a jap aftermarket exhaust on already).

The cheapest downpipes are on eBay and are around £150 shown below

Downpipe

The cheapest decat center pipe i know of is a magnex center pipe that can be ordered from any Halfords for £69.99 (Part No : XCRPSS02P)

Before you buy an ESL chip you will have to look at your ECU (it is under the carpet in the passenger side footwell) to check it is the Z4 type, if it is it will have a sticker with Z4 stuck on top of it. If it isnt you will have to source a Z4 ECU before you can fit a chip.

You may also need a new uprated panel air filter i.e K&N

Hope this helps

Craig

you don't need a z4 ecu to fit the chip as they supply a socket in the kit you just need a pre august 96 car

Cheers heple, i had it up on the ramps a few weeks back and it looks as though the only cat in place is the front one so obviously the previous oqner took care of the centre section. I already have an induction kit in place by "top gear" ive never heard of them so im figuring theyre poo?!

I just thought that then, they have a silencer in the center section instead of a cat.

I really need to make sure i've woke up before posting (although the seller did use a pic of the classic downpipe)

Dont listen to the claims, they'll be the maximum the seller has heard coming from one of there exhausts although a full decat will be somewhere near that figure.

The benifits you get from a decat is increased spool which results in a stronger power curve.

You should be able to get one for around £120 although at the moment there are non on eBay may be the result of xmas (make sure you get an open mouth decat downpipe)

Here is one that sold a couple of weeks back

Downpipe

The seller lists quite often i'd keep my eye out.

Also i'd replace your air filter for a K&N no point using an unknown filter, you dont know how they flow or how well they filter.

Heres the link to the ESL chips by the way

ESL Chips

Thats why you could do with the ESL chip

I was always under the impression that you needed a Z4 ECU to run these but as "myblackwrx" says you may not need one - Prob best to contact ESL yourself

They have loads of benifits for you such as

-Removing the speed limiter
-Converting the car to run on 97RON fuel i.e Super Unleaded
-Aswell as increased boost, timing etc to give increased BHP

I have known loads of people run decats without remapping with no problems.

Although i am always warey of doing this on imports as you are already running the car on a weaker fuel than it is mapped for and decatting the car just increases the chances of leaning the car out and causing engine damage.

Don't forget the FQ320 is running 320bhp (obviously) and you are running at max 240ps (236bhp).
All depends on how much you want to spend on mods.

Your mod list is going to need to be a little bigger to get near 320BHP.

Although you should be able to get your car upto the point where the EVO will find it difficult and driver qualities will come into play.
