Just had the same sort of noise on mine. it was the water pump. needed cambelt off to check properly though. spin it by hand and found bearing gone, wasn't leaking either.

It could be the power steering pump. I had my car serviced at a dealer until it passed 60.000 miles, but apparently they NEVER changed the power steering fluid. At startup when cold, it was squealing. After replacing the fluid, the pump was silent.

First, turn off the a/c see if that makes a difference.
If not take off the ancillary belt (PAS, Alternator) and see if still makes the noise.
If it stops then you problem is on one of then ancillaries or a slack belt
Easy enough to do.
