Default power ~ torque

I have a my99 classic running a vf34 and accompanying mods, recently had it remapped, to 333bhp which i'm very happy with

However the car is producing 343 ft.lbs of torque aswell, just woindering why?

as most people seem to always have a slightly higher bhp figure than torque however mine is the other way round?

BHP = Torque * rpm/5252, so at a guess, I'd say your car making a lot of torque low down, right?

There's nothing weird at all with having more torque than bhp, really (although it seems quite rare on the imprezas, for some reason). For example, some turbo Saab's with massive low end grunt have like 500Nm torque but only say 400bhp.

Just out of interest, what mods have you got apart from the turbo?

i got over 290bhp and 350lbs of torque on a MY99 with a TD04 turbo when mapped on the road with bob rawle. i think the ported headers must have given the car lots of low down torque which peaked at around 3600rpm.
ok though, as BR himself said 302bhp on the graph is a bit misleading and over 300lbs of torque should be easily seen on a rolling road.
the fuel was actually tescos super 99 ron.
