Default what type of gearbox?

How can I tell what gearbox I have got, when having the gearbox sitting in my garage?
The sticker on top of the gearbox near the mountingpoints to the engine got off and I can´t read it any longer!

Is there any way to tell by the numbers of the reardiff?

Many thanks for your advice!

It will be stamped into the gearbox, not a sticker. What year and model of car is it?

Where is it stamped?
I think the rear diff No is not related to the box.
Graham.

Well I'm 100% sure that it is a sticker only. Maybe I'm wrong, but in my recent hassles with replacing a gearbox, the only identifying mark was the long white sticker on the edge of the bellhousing, and if it's gone, it's gone. There are various other marks in the casting and maybe numbers stamped elsewhere, but the sticker is the model code, which will have a 752 or 754 somewhere in it.

There is a gearbox code page somewhere online that shows what gearbox you SHOULD have with your model of Impreza (as long as it's never been changed, that is!) If you post your model details, I'm sure someone can find out what it is supposed to be.
