Instability/Wandering
My car is a williams clio not a scooby unfortunately.
Does anyone have any ideas I could check before taking it to the garage with the following problem.
When I accelerate hard the car pulls towards the drivers side, then when I decelerate it pulls back towards the passenger side. This problem only happens when the car is in gear.
What could be causing this?? I've done all the visual checks on ball joints/bushes/mountings etc.
Cheers
Daz

Sounds like Torque Steer but it depends on how bad it is as to wether it is that or something that has worn and needs replacing.
Does it do it more in lower gears???

Has it always done this or just started? ... if its just started has there been any work done recently?
Here's some of my thoughts .... First and easiest things to check are your tyre pressures and if both tyres are the same brand/model/tread depth etc.
Are the tyres wearing evenly as tracking could be an issue and cause some pulling. If not those then worn suspension is a possibility (jack the car up and check for any play in suspension and wheel bearings)
