Default knocklink sensor problems

I have just fitted a knocklink here on the block:

When I tap next to it with a spanner it lights up all of the LED's on the knocklink, however after putting the intercooler back on and going for a drive I only get the first green flashing on the KL. This is at around 5500 RPM on full pedal. The sensitivity of the KL is set to full. Is this a bad place for the sensor? What else could cause this to happen?

Sounds like it works as it should, you should not see any activity under normal consitions, neither under high revs, the first might flicker up due to gearshift, otherwise the first will always be dim

HI,

Mine is installed exactly the same, one green comes on about 5k+ and get the odd flicker between changes. Nothing to worry about, i've had a few occasions where it has lit up 2nd orange due to knock and you will soon know!!!

If you reset the ecu and go for a spank you'll probably see more lights due to the ecu testing to see how far it goes...

Mine does the same, set at maximum sensitivity and most I get is 1 green light at high revs.

Thank god for that, read previous reports on here of orange LED's being lit up when the revs go up being a normal phenomenon. Thanks for replies, ready to start fiddling now that the KL is working properly.

Sounds good! If you get orange lights you will prob find that the ecu will stop it in less than a second anyway, if you get reds definately back off. I only ever get an orange if its a quick change of throttle.
