Default sti 8 intercooler

I intend on using it on my 94wrx, will I have to use a different dump valve, the one which weld/bolts on to the actuall intercooler. Or can I keep my normal bailey dump valve on a pipe coming from the side of the intercooler?

I think you'll struggle to get an STi 8 cooler on an MY94.

The MY97/MY98 & MY99/00 are very tight to get in on the early cars. These require some re-shaping of the bulkhead and triming down of the throttle housing and their a fiar bit smaller then the STi 8 item.

i fitted 1 to mine (94 wrx)

change the inlet manifold to a phase 1.5

made new brackets to support the intercooler

altered the idle control valve on the inlet manifold

made up a plate to fit the dump valve on to the intercooler

altered the wiring to fit the throttle potentiometer

alter the scoop tray on the under side of the bonnet

a pain to fit wont do it again

Very true. My MY98 WRX was a pain in the rear. It just fits and I have only just found a strut brace that has enough clearance.

Why not go front mount on your car. Price is around the same after considering everything.

The design of the inlet manifold on the pre 97 car, leaves no space to fit an STi 8 intercooler.
I've recently fitted an STi 4 intercooler onto a '94 WRX and even that needed a fair few mods to get it to fit without hitting the bulkhead.
