Default looks like a new turbo

As the title suggests, lots of smoke and looks like thats it for my turbo!!
Looking to replace it with either the same,TD04 or mabe go for a TDO5.Have to take money into consideration this close to christmas as well.
Does anyone know if it should be front or side entry for a '99 classic as I have seen both advertised on fleabay or does anyone have any other suggestions which could help considering my immediate cash flow problems?
Thanks as always guys,
Paul

Front entry. FE TD04s are common and very cheap but FE TD05s have been converted from a 90 degree inlet and cost a good deal more.

TD05 would also need a remap, so if cash is tight go with a TD04.

Personally if I ever blow my turbo, I'll probably go for one of the Andy F hybrid TD04s, same good low spool, but potentially as much as 320bhp at the top end. Much higher power/torque than the hybrid TD04 (e.g. from a well sorted TD05 setup), and the UK turbo/WRX gearbox could lose reliability too.
