Default TOPMOUNT TROUBLE

I need to uprate the topmount on my sti2. Ive already decided on sticking with the topmount setup as opposed to a frontmount but am struggling at getting a replacement.

Can uprated topmounts that are designed for the 96 car onwards be easily moddified to fit my 95? (slanty style cooler). Seen a few beefy looking ones on ebay and one at flat4online that look decent.

What additional items would i need to make them fit mine?

I'm going the same route and have been told that some new mounts have to be fabricated not too sure about the recirc valve as its on the other side of the intercooler.
You could have look in the 'Project cars' section for some clarification

went to fit my sti5 top mount the other week (onto a '93 wrx)

more work involved than I thought!

hack a bit at bulkhead
cut some off cooler outlet/ or throttle body - it'll still be tight against bulkhead
also won't be able to use a strut brace that fits behind intercooler

so I put slanty back on for now, although I will get around to doing it sometime

I fitted an STi 4 intercooler onto my '94 WRX ra a few week back.
Had to cut the old dump valve outlet from the front of the intercooler and seal up the hole.
Buy a new Samco Turbo hose set TCS22 I think it was.
You do need to trim the excess metal from around the rear mount, then make up 2 new mounting brackets. I made mine to give it some tilt too.
Trim about 10mm from the intercooler outlet - better/easier than trimming the manifold.
I can still use my STi strut brace too.
It took me a full afternoon, but it's not too hard to do.

Do a search too, there is a good link somewhere with lots of photos.

Found it, all I did different was I had an STi 4 intercooler which I trimmed rather than the manifold. And I trimmed the rear mount with an air saw rather than adjust it with a big hammer.
