Default OEM Fuel Cut Limit on UK98

Hi,

Struggling to find a definitive answer on this one. What is the oem map sensor set to cut out at 15psi ? 18psi?

Also is a narrowband afr and detalarm suffient to gauge whether i'm going to blow up my engine if i'm increasing boost?

I have so far a full decat and panel filter and boost normally settles at 1.1 bar, i've ordered a dawes device to try and keep the boost steady and quicker spool up and was going to set it about 1.2 bar.... Will that make much of a difference ?

Cheers
Nicky

Fuel cut on UK MY98 is 1.25bar just a tad over 18psi.

Fuel cut on earlier cars (with a bigger turbo) is somewhat lower around 1.05bar (15psi) but this varies depending on exactly which ECU we are talking about.

If you are sure that the NB AFR and Det Alarm are correctly setup and functioning correctly then they are a useful monitoring tool. But there are no guarantees.

Hi,

I haven't had any calibration done on either tbh, mainly bacause i didn't know you were supposed to!! The Afr is wired into the oem lambda sensor (which is only a few months old) and the detalarm i got from roojai along with a bosch knock sensor which is installed as per the instructions.

I get one green led over 5krpm and the occasional flicker on the 2nd green, all the while my AFR is bolted to approx 0.9v (half way into "rich")....

Will i need them calibrated, and if so where could i take it and what does it cost? I'm in cumbria so not much here as far as i know....

And also thank you very much for the confirmation

You should really consider getting Andy F, etc. to re-map if you're planning to run an "unknown" hardware set-up at anything above oem boost. NB is ok for basic monitoring but you cant tune for LBT (cruise economy) or overfuel for temp/det protection at high speed/load unless you've got a wideband reading.
Same applies to your knock sensor. Mapping to det using this set up would destroy your engine very quickly. There's no substitute for detcans and experienced ears.

...not meaning to be all doom + gloom, - just looking out for ya!

Hi,

Got it booked in for a roller run and full check up in a couple of weeks. They said they were going to check all the boost, afr etc

So will see how its running, i'd like nothing more than to be able to take it to andyf but at this moment i cant afford to, maybe in the new year sometime.

cheers
