how hard is it and how long will it take and what tools will i need to take my inlet manifold off for powdercoating.
and will it be ok if i get it powdercoated ?

You don't need any special tools, a socket set, open and ring metric spanners, a couple of screw drivers and a pair of pliers.
It is more time consuming than anything else. Not difficult but fiddly.
Get new gaskets and consider manifold spacers from Russel Hulme, Carl Davey or RCMS.

 

If, using insulating spacer's, would 2 sets of inlet manifold gaskets be required?

When i did this to my car i used two sets of gaskets, one set for the top side and one for the bottom.

Yes. Top and bottom to create a seal.
Insulators should be of "tufnol" to ensure proper insulation and NOT aluminium etc.

 

Where abouts do the spacers go on a newage, just below the inlet or against the block?

Don't forget longer bolts too!!

 

Pickle i managed to get away with using my original bolts, what are you using on your car?

I don't actually use any insulators under the manifold. they weren't really available when I last took it off! (3 odd years ago)

If I ever need to remove it again though, i will fit some Insultor gaskets. I just remember reading that someone had to use some longer bolts to allow for the thickness of the Insulators??

Depends on how thick they are I suppose. I would still be inclined to use some slightly longer bolts, just so there is more thread in the casting for piece of mind.
