Whats the best way to remove the SUBARU badge letters from the boot to avoid doing any damage to the paintwork?

Warm the glue gently with a hair dryer then gently use a length of fishing line to gently pull the letters from the body. Then use white spirit to clean the glue then apply several layers of polish to finish it off.
