Default Mileage swop = Eeprom swop, is this possible?

HELP!
I've got wrx2002 clockset and recently changed to sti 2002 clockset. Can I de-solder wrx eeprom and solder it into the sti clockset?
Has anyone done this before???

The reason is that i need to keep running my car with my original mileage.

I know I could get someone to correct my sti clock but when it comes to selling my car in the future i will need to correct the mileage again to my wrx clockset, in which i will be paying twice for the service!
