Default Radiator woes....

My car has been losing water, and I've spotted a crack in one of the plastic end caps on the radiator.

Before I buy a new one, I thought I would ask if there's any way of simply fixing the one I have, as other than the crack, it looks new and shiny and it would be a shame to scrap it.

Do any of you know?

If the radiator you have fails then it could cost you your engine mate, definatly worth fitting a new one tbh cos its a lot cheaper than replacing blown head gaskets etc later down the line.

I appreciate that.....just thought I'd ask as I saw someone on here reply to a post offering a radiator in the same state as mine for free - figured the ends may be repairable. If not I'll order a new one this week.

Thanks

common problem - look for an exchange rad, bout 80-90 quid (plus your old unit). Dont mess around with radweld etc, you'd be surprised how quick the engine will overheat to a dangerous level if the radiator gives and empties itself when you're giving the loud pedal a prod.
