Default New Piggyback tuning on dynapack

I found a local tuner who claims to have 10 years of experience in scooby's ECU tuing since 1994 in Sydney Australia.

They offer a kind of custom tuned piggback ECU called "Hdi". It is bascially a tuned fuel map that retains all the safety features found on the stock ECU.

The tuning will be done on a dynapack dyno at around 400 pounds all inclusive.

The current mods on my 05 wrx are

1. K&N panel filter
2. catless UP, DP
3. catless STI mid section and muffler
4. May be an uprated fuel pump and injectors (keeping the TD04 turbo)

The only problem is that there arent any ECUtek tuners in my country nor does the AP works for non US WRX. Please advice if I should go ahead with this Piggyback tune and what are the risks involved?

thank you very much for any inputs

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?

I'd avoid it unless its done by a well known UK mapper

Niceguy,

if all they are offering is revised fuelmap(s) then expect very little gain, it may feel a little more crisp but not much else.

If you've got an 05 WRX then an ECUTEK remap will be far easier, and a lot better IMO

cheers everyone

Yes, with my EDM 05 WRX, I think I will go with Ecutek but there is only 1 local dealer which only started their business in 06. I guess I will have to keep my finger crossed to wait for either the mysterious Enginuity or the pricy Ecutek easy ecu kit to have my own reflashes done.

Anyone touched the enginuity or easy ecu kit on your European made wrx or sti?
