Default 3inch to a 2.5inch exhaust

i am thinking about swapping my exhaust system, which is a 3inch system from the turbo. but i want to swap to a 2.5 system

the car is mapped to 3inch system, do you think i will lose power from making this change?? i dont think i will but can someone just confirm this so i feel happy about making the change.

cheers mark
p.s max power of my car is prob about 340 on a bloody good day. and i dont really intend on going over this

Why do you want to change from 3" to 2.5"?
A good 2.5" exhaust system should be ok for you current/target power level, so you shouldn't loose a lot of power, but it depends on design/quality...

i want to change it as its a little big and bling for me. (tail pipe) i would like something smaller with a nicer note to it. but to this i feel i need to change the whole lot.

Cheaper to just change the back box to one you like. It is possible to get an adapter to go from a 3" middle to a 2.5" back box, or Hayward & Scott will do a custom cone-shaped piece of welding to one of their back-boxes to suit.

but if i keep the three inch system then something tells me i will not get back the full on burble sound that i am after. you see with the apexi system on there at the min its just more loud than nice. if you know what i mean

Have you looked at the Revolution system?

Its 3" from the downpipe back, there is a choice of exits - the 4" one sounds 'bling', but actually IMO looks rather ordinary. Its also relatively quiet which is a bonus.

If you're a function over form person then consider one
