Default Help needed

Seem to have a problem with my WRX.

When driving it the car feels very 'heavy'. (Best way i can describe it).

Basically it feels as if the brakes are binding.....but they aren't.

When i accelerate it doesn't have much pickup at first, and is very jolty, and when i lift off it slows down very quickly. (but it a take it out of gear it stays about the same speed.)

I do have a slight misfire with it aswell, which only happens at low revs, and is very bad when the car is first started in the wet. (I assume if is the coilpacks)

Any suggestions greatly appreciated......or i'll have to take a day off work to get it looked at and it will be even harder to get hold of me for an insurance quote

Hi Gary. Could it be that the dodgy coilpacks are causing all your symptoms? I take it you've tried jacking up each wheel and checking that they rotate smoothly?
The only other thing I can think of (apart from the obvious MAF failure), is an air leak which would also cause rough running. You run a FMI, don't you? Are all your hoses secure? Boost hasn't dropped?

Cheers for the replies.

I am heat wrapping the FMIC pipes this week, so will give me a change to check for leaks on the system.

Going to bite the bullet and change the coilpacks, as they need doing anyway.

I might also try the MAF off my brothers WRX and see if that makes it run better.
