Default 00 MAF on an 02 engine...will it fit?

looking at a potential ebay purchase to replace my missing MAf - thing is my engine is an 02 WRX from a bugeye. The MAF im looking at is from a 2000 car - the vendor assures me it will fit all post 2000 bug eye cars....is this right?

Cheers in advance

MY00 - Pt.No 22794AA010
MY01> - Pt.No 22680AA310

MY00 is MAF only, MY01 should be MAF only i.e not half the intake aswell according to the Dbase. But if subaru quote you £200+ then that's not MAF only.

Newage mafs are much more robust so even if it was possible to do it would be a retrograde step.
