Default cel fix

after getting up pipe de catted had the cel for egt. no problem, resistor fitted still got cel . took it to subaru to reset, still got cel. changed resistor because i bought a couple, then i took it to another subaru dealer-same thing, cel wont go off.tearing my hair out at this point as i know it is the egt causing this but i have fitted the resistor. went back to maplins today and bought a pack of resistors to try. got the multimetre out and found the 2.2kohm one out of the bunch. i didnt look like the 2.2 kohm ones i had previously bought so i removed the old one and tested it, it wasn't 2.2 . maplins must of had them on wrong shelf or something. so i put the right resistor in, started 5 times and it has now gone out . my dash is now cel free(touch wood). orange light was really getting to me.

Lee has posted about the EGT sensor missing CEL fix using the 2Kohm resistor

EcuTeK cannot map out the EGT CEL problem

P0420 CEL is the "missing Cat" CEL and can be mapped out.

Hope this helps
