Default STI bottom end

Hi everyone,

Can you tell me whether an STI bottom end will suitably replace a standard uk spec bottom end or are they not compatible in any way?

thanks

Mike

They are compatible. I've got a STi7 shortblock mated to WRX 01 heads in a MY1999 Euro Spec Turbo.

Yes, standard flywheel, clutch, gearbox can be fitted. Of course when your engine is out it's a good moment to upgrade the OE equipment, in my case lightweight flywheel, AP clutch, and new gearbox.

Thats very interesting, was thinking of strengthening the bottom but not interested in boosting power at the moment
