wing mirror glass removal, the easy way!
Ive seen many people have asked, but nobody seems to have a foolproof method of removing the glass without breaking it!
Thought id share with you my method i used!
Step one: boil the kettle
step two: pour boiled water onto glass
step three: run burnt fingers under cold tap
step four: take a penkinfe and insert it between mirror and black surround
step five: use penkife to prize the mirror out of the black mounting
Job done!
The above is vital when swapping the insides of your mirrors over if fitting jdm folding mirror mechanisms to your excisting mirrors! (saves painting )
To remove the mechanism you basically need to remove the 4 screws on the black mirror mount (once glass removed), and then the 4 screws behind it. Finally remove the 3 screws on the bottom of the arm. Obviously all this is with the mirror removed from the car!
