Default Side Light Problem

Hey peeps

Thought i would give the scoob a hoover through today, while rapping it up i got out of the car and noticed the side lights were on,i'm pretty sure they werent on when i went out there.

Tried disconnecting the battery connecting again and they came back on.....at the moment they are still on,any ideas ????

Would a broken fuse/rely leave them on ?

Cheers
Scud

Nothing do with the parking light switch on top of the steering column is it? (assuming this is a classic only thing)
