Default Temp Problem

Temperature Gauge is all over the place went out tonight to pick up chinese about 2 miles down the road got there and engine was just starting to get up to temp, then was driving the 2 miles home and the gauge went from normal position to cold then hot within 30 seconds then back to normal. my95wrx standard except for filter
Any Ideas?

possible temp sensor fault. Do you have any issues with hot or cold starting?
Check fluid levels first and monitor the temp gauge and see if it happens again

Starting ok hot and cold where is the temp sensor located?

ecu and gauge uses two separate temperature sensors..

the gauge is just a single spade connector and is I suspect dirty connector problem.

It is located on the cross pipe on top of the engine, under the inlet manifold.
try cleaning the single spade connector.
