Default ECU QUESTION.

I have aquried a 4 plug ecu i have opened it up to find the spare slot has a chip solidered in place(it has a label with 1994 ra sti std timing) on it). .And the j1 resistor wire looks ti be cut.
The ECU is a SB
s0355 00070
a18-000 RZ1
Obviously this is for early models hence 4 yellow plug connections, but what models will it be compatable with. As my m8 with a 94wrx would like to try it in his car, to see if its any better over the std unit(w6). but we don't wanna brake his car by fitting it. Any advise

Only really suitable for the STi RA as it will have a higher RPM limit, higher boost target (~13.64psig) and more advanced IGN - The STi RA irrc also has forged pistons whereas the 94WRX hasn't. Best option ECU wise would be a Z4 or Z5

Cheers
