Default Quiet Performance Back Box

Hi, at the moment my car has magnex de cat down pipe, power engineering centre sports cat, magnex rear box, VF35 turbo, STI8 TMIC and remap.

It great but a bit noisey on the motorway and gives me a bad headache!!

So I want to wimp out and reduce the noise, can anyone reccomend a quiet performance back box? I thought maybe a prodrive one?

I assume a remap will not be necessary?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Magnex is one of the quiet ones! Think you're gonna struggle to get anything quieter whilst retaining performance.

prodrive box would be your best option, not silent but easy to live with...also tsl group n box gives a very nice burble without being to loud inside, looks good as well

really!, to be honest the magnex was great when I had the standard centre section with resonator in place, but since I have had the sports cat without resonator it quite bad. Its not so much the volume but more the boomy noise at 70-80 mph, its better at 90mph!

Was going to recommend a Revolution system but it'll replace the centre cat you've got and be slightly louder.

Got to admit your existing set up is pretty quiet compared to standard but a Prodrive backbox should give a good burble at tickover without being too noisy on the motorway

No noticeable drone at cruising speed with the Prodrive box but barks when you floor it,, best of both worlds I think

prodrive /wrsport rear silencers are spot on- plenty of "quality"down the road burble and next to silent inside-quite inexpensive to buy on the second hand market

I'd go for an H&S original scooby design or scoobysport, something with a 3" exit.

I had a Magnex Oval before and it was louder than the H&S and scoobysport I've had on since.

p.s. I'm selling a scoobysport (newage fitment) in a couple of weeks if you're interested.

Prodrive BB is no louder than standard BB at 70-80mph. Slightly louder at idle and above 3-4k then it gives a lovely burble

Yep, second that: I ahve the former on my car and it sounds lovely, without being too intrusive. That said, you do have to accept, when you get a performance backbox, you are going to compromise refinement, especially on the motorway, it's just a question of the extent of the compromise.

I've got a full Fujitsubo from turbo back system, which has got the perfect noise. Not too loud and not too quiet. Its fully seamless so better for gas flow.

Your main problem here is the removal of the resonator. Replacing that will make a big difference, and it won't compromise the performance.
