Default ECU ??

probably a silly question, i have a 93 imprt wrx, apparantly it has an uprated ECU, but I am not sure so i want to go and have a look.

What is the easiest/quickest way to get to the ECU, and if it is standard what type of ECU would it be.

Thanks,

Ian

ECU is under an aluminium plate in the passenger footwell. The most likely mod is that it has had an aftermarket chip put in - to check take the cover off the ECU and see if there is a socketed chip or a daughter board with a few chips on it. If you're lucky it will be labelled and you can then ask what it is.

If not then be careful as some of the imports turn up with maps that are only suitable for Jap fuel.
