MAF/tune question

MAF/tune question
Hi,
This weekend at a local event I got a CEL. The boost started fluctuating and lost all power during acceleration in 3d gear (Limp-home mode).
My guess is the MAF and/or lambda. I havn't checked witch code it triggered but will do that soon.
My question is the following:
It wasn't that long ago that I got my car Ecutek-tuned. Could it have been that the MAF or lamda was "half broken" by then? If this is possible, can it harm my engine (lean/rich) if I put in new parts that are 100% functional without a re-tune?
