Where is the oil cooler?

Default Where is the oil cooler?

as it says on a classic 97 sti, and if its not at the front is it difficult to relocate it in airflow?

It's a water cooled oil cooler on your car. It's in between the block and the oil filter.

Only spec C's have air cooled oil coolers.

As said, its not a true cooler as such, in fact is warmed up by hot coolant flowing around it.

Commonly known as an oil modine.

If you fit an air oil cooler rad to the system, is it worth keeping the modine setup still in? ie to help with cold starts? As I'm sure the rad would reduce the normal running on my car (with modine) from 95-98 deg mark..?
