Up and down pipes

Up and down pipes
I have a 2003 STI PPP and am thinking of fitting an APS up and down pipe.
What i'm wondering is, is there any point as i think the ppp has a sport cat in the down pipe and i shouldn't have a cat in the up pipe ?
So will it make much difference ? and will i still have any cats to pass an mot ? also any issues with lambda sensors etc ?
