PPP is best if you want to keep your warranty. Otherwise, decat and a remap. For long term benefit invest the money in some driving tuition. (That's a serious comment and not taking the p1ss.)

oh dear..........not happy eh?

If you are after keeping the warranty ppp is the only way to go. Personally I wasn't too impressed with this package on my 53 plate sti............

exhaust; panel filter; fuel pump and remap should net you decent gains but will no doubt soon leave you wanting more as it did me!

Cheap turbo upgrade may also be an option (I sold my VF35 from my sti for £300.00).

Suspension and brake upgrades should be on your list as well unless you're just looking at straight line pace?

Good luck mate..........

Definately a remap if you aren't fussed about the remaining warranty. £1k will just about be enough cash to decat the centre and fit a new backbox, then an ecutek remap. It'll make the car completely different to drive, more power and much more responsive.

would'nt fit a dump valve, had one on my last car (04 wrx ppp).thought the car sounded cool but i really think it went better without it.
prodrive pack is very good on these cars but after a week you'll get used to it and want more!i ended up buying a sti in search of more power and now it feels slow .but i think if you really want more power plan your mods carefully.wait till you have the cash and do the job right.a wrx with a hybrid turbo, bigger injectors, sti intercooler, proper exhaust and remaped is a very fast car.i dont think many astra's or type r's would bother you with that kind of kit.

As you live in Gloucester closest places to you for remapping are Powerstation in Tewkesbury and Bob Rawle is Swindon way.

I am sure you won't miss your CTR's performance once your WRX is remapped! You will still miss the good brakes and suspension that a CTR has as standard though .....

We had a CTR and replaced it with a WRX which, whilst a better all round car with 4WD was not really any quicker. Ours was only 9 months old so I took the PPP route and have not been disappointed. I know the car could do more but keeping the warranty was the main issue as well as ease to insure.

I too now want more but can't have it - the wife has just flipped after I looked at a mint WR1 ...... oh dear ! Have to get rid of the wife I suppose.... .....
