Default closed deck?

1st of all, am new to the scooby world so dunno alot, but il be in london in a couple of weeks for almost a year and I would like to bring a nice 2 dr trophy back to home.

People mention closed deck? What does this actually mean, and is the later v5-6 a closed deck? Emailed andy f, for a quote on approx 400 ponies his pricing was quite decent, you think it would be a reliable daily driver at this power? I also asked if it would be able to run on low octane (which he tought was uk's ie. 95ron), he said they liked high octane, the problem is over here in malta we only got 92ron... what should i do?

Sorry for the 2 much questions but im kinda

closed deck is the actual engine block, the earlier wrx/sti had closed deck blocks. These are supposedly stronger than the semi closed and open deck blocks as there is less chance of cylinders distorting etc. Quite a few people run over 400 bhp with either the semi or open.
A v5/6 will not have a closed deck block as standard

I think the closed deck block was only standard on the v1/2 sti, and v1/2/3/4 sti ra.
