You'd be better with Sti heads IMO. Internals will cost around 2k and you will need to source a block. Then either build it yourself or get a specialist to build it for you. (circa 1-1.5k). Best posting in the wanted section for a 'built' bottom end/engine s/h and save yourself some cash. Just remember that a std sti bottom end should be safe enough to run 400bhp. (TD06-20g). There's a big difference money wise between 400 and 450 bhp. Also consider a ppg s/c box/6 speed for 450bhp.

Would be worthwhile giving Mark at Lateral Performance a ring to discuss your planned build. 400-450 is quite a substantial amount of power and everything will need to be spot on. Tell him what your end goals are/what the car will be used for and he should be able to point you in the right direction. And he even sells top notch parts to boot!
