Waxoil spray
Just curious to know how well people rate this stuff.
On Friday I've got a ChipsAway chap coming to tend to a few bits on the car, in particular a nasty rust spot that's appeared on one of my Classic's rear doors. In readiness for the small repair, I've rubbed the rust away and coated the area using Waxoil spray.
I chose Waxoil over Curust (spelling?) because it's supposed to be thick and oily and weather-proof. In fact, I found it more like WD40 and if it rains then I can't see it staying put to be honest. At least it's only temporary.
How do others normally find this stuff..?
Jonts.

Waxoil and Kurust have different functions. Kurust is applied over rust and through chemical reaction, neutralises the rust. Waxoil is a protective coating intended for box sections, recesses, door and sill interiors etc., to stop the formation of rust by creating a waterproof barrier. I've used it for many years for this purpose and it's a good long term investment.

Cheers John.
Just realised I couldn't spell Waxoyl right either. LOL, what am I like!
Thanks for the reply. Get the feeling that Kurust might have been more suitable for its chemical reaction and getting rid of most traces of rust, but not good if it then gets wet (it's bound to rain before Friday I'm sure).
Happen I'll keep the exposed area dosed up with Waxoyl til Thursday evening and then treat it to some Kurust which might chase away a bit more rust before it's primed and painted on Friday morning.
Cheers,
Jonty.
