94 wrx oil filter help!!
I'm planning on changing my oil soon and the filter that I bought today doesn't seem to be the same size as the one that's already on the car - the one that I've bought is a lot "fatter" than the one that's on the car (quite slim compared) so obviously I'm now reluctant to fit it. The replacement one is a fram filter part number PH5280, according to their book it's the right one for my car. I can't make out the one that's on the car.
I drive a stock 94wrx and would REALLY appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction - i.e is it ok to use?? thanks guys

DO NOT use a fram filter, i wouldn't use a fram filter on a fiesta never mind a subaru.
you can get a genuine subaru filter (slimmer type) for around £4.50 from the dealers.
i only use genuine oil filters for a good reason.
what oil are you planning on using?

oh dear!! any particular reason why you don't use fram filters? I've always used them on all my other cars and never had a problem? Obviously I'd like to use the gen article but my nearest subaru main dealer is feckin MILES away and the postage would probably cost more then the filter and besides, I want to get my hands dirty NOW!!! not have to wait for a dealer to get his finger out - I'll also be using shell helix if I can find any tomorrow.
