Default Forester 2.0 to 2.5ltr conversion

Can anyone tell me what mods if any are required to bolt a 2.5 short block in where the 2.0 was? Its a 8 bolt version motor in a 2000 stb Forester!

1. Will my heads fit back on?
2. Will everything else fit back on?
3. Injector sizing? (currently yellow top)
4. Computer?

Ive read all your posts, some good info there but cant seem to find anyone swapping a 2.5 into a late model donor?

Cheers for any info!

I take it you mean using an EJ257 block to replace the std 2.0 turbo block?

Yes it's a straight swap Although you will need a remap of the ECU.
The EJ257 in also an 8 bolt block

Depending on Turbo and boost pressure the 440 (yellow) injectors might max out if you up the boost too far, but I suspect they will be fine for the std turbo.

Hey Dyney, Thanks for the info, I suspected that the blocks were the same, as for the remap? any idea if any of the standard comps out there will be a direct replacement also? Cheers

have you had a look through www.clubsub.org.nz You should find everything you need to know there and its local to you.

As for remapping your factory ecu Torqueperformance in Auckland is the local ecutec dealers.
There are other ecu options but they will cost a bit more so it would depend what your plans for the car is.
