Default Intercooler Hose Kits

Hi

I am looking to buy a front mounted intercooler for my imprezza WRX STI 04 which I have seen on Ebay. This works out alot cheaper than any other one I have seen.

Does anybody know where I could get hold of the intercooler pipes to convert to a front mounted as these dont come included.

Thanks for your help.

Vicky K

What are you actually asking?

If you buy a front mount kit from ebay, everything will be included (intercooler, pipes, hoses, clips) and just needs fitting, so there is nothing to "convert".

If you mean you want to convert your existing top-mount intercooler to front mount set-up......then you're mad.

Hi

Sorry for not making it clear but I am not trying to put my top mounted intercooler at the front, I do have a brain somewhere he he.

The front mounted intercooler on ebay doesnt come with the aluminium pipe kit, it is just the intercooler which is why I am trying to look for the pipe kit.

Cheers

I understand you now....

If I were you I would give the standalone intercoolers a miss, as if you buy the parts seperately you have no guarantee that they will mate up due to the pipe kit potentially being designed for a different sized intercooler than you end up with.

Intercooler kits on ebay can be had for as little as £135 (plus ITRO £50 postage from Hong Kong), and these kits include all the pipes, clips and hoses to suit the intercooler that comes with the kit. In my opinion this is a far better idea, and cheaper than buying the intercooler and piping seperately.

On top of the kit you will probably have to budget for an induction kit - as the kits generally don't allow the use of the original airbox, and ideally a remap of the car's ecu to account for the changes.

What sort of power goal do you have in mind, as a front mount may not be necessary for the sort of power you are aiming for?
